There is not a part of you I’ve forgotten.
There is not a single memory I’ve abandoned.
The moment we looked out to the water
When summer was just beginning-
When your smile was a sunrise,
And my arms were your home.
I’ve let you go.
But I’ll always keep-
the Moments;
that will always be-
ours.
Smiles that were once genuine-
Now foreign
Smiles that are forced-
Are frequent
In the interim between the ghosts of our past,
and the time it take to become who we’ve been,
Will I find you waiting?
7 notesIt’s cold in here, so light a candle,
snuggle up close, how much can we handle?
The shadows flicker, they dance and fall,
the light on our backs, the silhouettes on the wall.
Listen to the sounds of the piano play,
fall asleep with me, drift away.
We’ll dream in sepia, soft linens of white,
vintage sunsets, and city lights.
We’ll sit on a roof top, and take it all in,
we’ll hold on to the city, and indulge in its sin,
We won’t wait for sunrise, we’ll make our own time,
we’ll bum coffee and cigarettes, and commit simple crimes.
We’ll bathe in the streetlights,
and graffiti the sky,
with smoke signals and airwaves,
and who cares if we die?
But come back in the house,
leave the streets to the light,
and let concrete and corners rest for night.
So come join me once more,
pray tomorrow’s the same,
you never know what could happen,
when you extinguish the
-tssssss…
Help me heal my broken heart,
Free the ties that bind,
Let wounds and memories depart,
So a new love, I may find.
Release from me what traps me here,
Each smile, each endeavor,
Help my soul not live in fear,
Let me not Love you forever.
There’s a song in the trees,
Then there’s birds and then there’s bees,
and there’s an ocean between us
but love couldn’t weather the seven seas,
There’s a white dove singing,
Then there’s an old man bringin,
Me- my mail everyday,
There’s a heart that’s withered in a letter he delivered,
and it almost took my breath away
But I’m free at last-
there’s a hole that burns it’s a thing of the past,
and I’m ready to sail away the day,
Kiss my ass- I’ll see you in L.A.
I put my faith in little things,
like the hope of a new sunrise,
when fresh snow blankets the frozen ground,
how flowers grow back when they’ve died.
How the stars teach us eternity,
They leave a legacy for us to find,
Their light constantly inspires me,
Immortality is what we leave behind.
How the waves don’t get discouraged,
though their pushed around day after day,
How no matter how much mountains are walked all over,
They’ll never run away.
How the moon always returns to us,
To remind us there’s always beauty in the night,
Even though it’s choked by darkness,
It will never lose it’s light.
How the trees can live forever,
If we only treat them well,
How the sky can paint with beautiful colors,
How the fire consumed secrets it will never tell.
You can always trust in the seasons too,
No matter what, they’ll always be there.
You can always trust in the beauty of fall,
and the beautiful clothing the trees will wear.
I believe there’s beauty in little things,
That hope can always be found,
You’ll see the beauty thats around you my dear,
If you only learn to look around.
Discover me- as an explorer,
unaware of what he’ll find.
Understand me- as an intellect,
view the perspectives in my mind.
Build for me- as an architect,
a ground on which to stand.
Take me- as a traveler,
to a new, uncharted land.
Heal me- as a medic,
if my heart begins to cry,
But grow with me- as a flower,
keep me safe so I’ll never die.
Hold me - like a child,
Laugh with me - like a friend,
But Love me - Like a Lover.
Love me like it will never end.
6 notesThere are mysteries covered by the sands of time,
There are stories to be told by the seas,
There is Love revealed by forgotten rhymes,
Secrets whispered by immortal trees.
There lessons we neglect,
perceptions we have lost,
Simple truths we choose to reject,
and acceptance that comes with a cost.
There are secrets hidden in candlelight,
People from every age.
Each one has a unique story to tell,
Each one a ‘walking shadow that struts his time upon the stage’.
There is dust gathered by history books,
Wisdom left to teach,
Mistakes, regrets, and memories-
to our ears were meant to reach.
When our time comes and we meet our end,
What will be left to find?
Immortality is achieved by how we’re remembered,
What will you leave behind?
What if the snow never had to fall?
If the fire wasn’t shy of the rain?
What if the mountains were able to run around?
If leaves didn’t die in vain?
What if the waves weren’t pushed around?
If the sun didn’t have to set each day?
What if the Winter and Summer could meet?
If stones could tell stories, what would they say?
What if the trees weren’t immortal?
If water could stay in one place?
What if the sky could meet the land?
If the moon could show both sides of its face?
What if the clouds could no longer float?
If shadows weren’t glued to the dark?
What if the ground didn’t have to be trampled on?
If lightning could loose its spark?
This world is a beautiful place.
But not all is always as it seems.
I know a more beautiful place though,
But it only exists in my dreams.
Interim’s - empty spaces.
Unsent letters - false embraces.
Failed attempts, Piano laments,
Being trapped by unfamiliar faces.
Museums - hearts left on display.
Photographs - faded to bitter gray.
Hope, Elope, try to cope,
Telescope dreams of a brighter day.
Sunrise - newfound eyes,
and waves that carry me far, far away.
Distance keeps us still.
In the interim of Love-
Hearts wait in silence.
Lonely hearts sleep far apart tonight,
I remember nostalgia and city lights.
I like think you thinking about me too.
I remember that place that we would go,
The words we never let each other know,
I don’t like to think it’s gone.
But now you’re all washed up and I’m back to the beginning again.
Oh oh, goodbye my friend,
Oh why my lover, did you let our story end?
I wish you’d feel it too.
Even miles apart, you still bring me to my knees.
I don’t think Lovers shouldn’t sleep alone with hearts like these.
My head is filled with dreams of things I’ll never see,
Wide-eyes from starry skies gaze down and they stare back at me.
My heart is built on bridges, from here to Montreal.
I’d rather build on bridges then try to walk through walls.
I can hear your call, smoke signals in the skies-
And when we meet- my sweet, we’ll find-
Our invincible sunrise.
My smile’s filled with light from the words you never said,
But my laugh could chase away the monsters in your bed.
My lungs are filled with things to whisper in your ear-
But now it’s clear, my dear- invincible means we’ll never disappear.
I can hear your call, smoke signals in the skies-
And when we meet- my sweet, we’ll find-
Our invincible sunrise.
I’ve looked on the other side, and been shocked by what I’ve seen,
A world where Hope’s alive, who knew it’d be so green?
I searched and searched for the answers I didn’t think I’d find,
But the truth isn’t here- my dear, so leave your inquires behind.
I found a newer place- it’s filled with hope and light,
It’s the place where white knights live, Where the sun is always bright.
It’s a place where dreams are all we’ll need and ever know,
It’s a place that’s always been here, so open up, come in, and let go.
